Athletics Day

Athletics day was fun because our whole school dressed up in their house colours. The colours were Yellow, blue, red, and green.Teachers were giving high fives as kids got to the finish line.

And I saw a rainbow of colours cheering on the sideline.

I could feel the smooth grass I sat down.

I felt the sweat dripping down my skin like a melting icecream. I heard the rumbling sound of cheering as team battled for the number one spot. I heard parents cheering on their children like a crowd at an All Blacks game. I could taste butterflies in my stomach as I was getting ready to run. I could taste the burnt sausage as I took a bite. The delicious food that families had brought for their children. Perfume from Mrs Kelly. At the end of the day

Duffy assembly Mai fm Morning Show

Today we had a duffy role model assembly . Our role models were Nate and Lily from the Mai Fm Morning Show .  Four key messages I learned were .  Reading can help you to think   of and find a dream job .  Reading and traveling helps you to learn about other cultures and places .  If you read a lot it will help you learn more, and If you learn more, you will have more options in your life .  Aswell as playing games,read books so that you can be a future role model .  I admired the way  Lily had read over one hundred books

In Room 9 We have been learning how to code and make our own game, I have been learning how to use this site called scratch, Scratch is a site that helps you become a coder if your don't know what a coder is than I will explain a coder is someone who makes games and websites like social media google and other fun technology games do you know your HTML has been coded for you so you dont take a long time to write it in.

Today we had Adam from Sommerville come and join us for Art! We were making shark art, after reading "The Great White Man-Eating Shark" by Margaret Mahy. Adam really enjoyed doing Art with us. He was going to stay for five minutes but he ended up staying for half an hour!

We loved having Adam with us. He is now part of or Room 9 family.
