The Holidays - Friends and Myself

Monita -
Nothing, shes just going to go to some roaming, and going to visit people and things like that she's also going to see her Nana and her family, friends and she said she is going to possibly be fun or boring but she will be seeing her friends throughout the holidays so I think she should have some fun.

Arizona -
She said shes going to be probably doing nothing expect visiting family member and eating lots of food because she likes food!!

In Holidays I will probably move my stuff to the new house and after relax until I go to my new school.
And I´ll also do nothing after that too, ass in nothing I mean like sleeping and eating and that's just about it.

The last Day

Today is the last day of Term 2 and also is my last day at this school and I will miss this school but mostly my friends, the reason I will miss this school is because I have came to this school since I was 5. 

I can't wait for the holidays because I have no idea what we will be doing throughout the holidays something I also can't wait for is spending time with my family and i'm expecting one of my friends to come down and visit me.

Arizona - Good Morning, Today is the last day of term 2 for Tamaki Primary. I am very excited but not that much because I won't be seeing my friends for a while and 2 of my friends Lizzy and Taonga are sisters and they are going to another school and we will miss them a lot but I hope they make good new friends at their new school. I wish them all the best at their new school, house and area they are going to living in.







Mary Jane - Something i'm not going to be happy about today and this week is that it's currently my best friends last day at this school and I really don't want to see her go because we are really close and I just want her to stay but life will still go on and I can't make her parents stay and things like that

Lizzy Visual Arts Reflections

Visual Arts

I created a night and day drawing.

Something that I found challenging was that  I had to smudge the pastel into the paper. It was challenging because my fingers were getting swore.

If I did this project again, I would change the colour, style, subject.

I think the colour scheme worked well.

Things that went well with my drawing were the grass, the tree and the pastel.

My artwork is a story about how I see day and night.

I drew a picture/symbol of a tree with some dirt that's ripped out of the ground and sun on one side and the moon on the other side to represent day and night and I also drew some blue swirls

for the wind blowing the grass.

Making Connections With Black Holes.

For the past few weeks we have been researching about black holes for inquiry. We worked in groups of threes and my group figured out some questions about black holes and they were about what we wanted to know about black holes. We had to research to try and get the answers to the questions about black holes.

Tai chi

Today we had Tai Chi in the hall and we got into a circle and said our positive and negative comments and our Random acts of kindness. The power word was courage and Mr. Gordon was telling us stories of people taking courage in what they were doing.One of the stories he told us was about a old lady and she lived next door to his school and she had a whole back yard full of fruit and vegetables and when he was seven and heaps of the kids at his school was  going over her fence to steal her apples, grapes, peaches and mandarins so she use to chase them back to the school with a rake so everyone thought she was a witch.  Then one day Mr. Gordon's friend wanted a apple but he couldn't get over the fence so his friend asked Mr. Gordon to steal a apple for him and he said no why don't we just ask so Mr. Gordon was trying to scare his friend, so he went to ask the lady and his friend was really scared so he was standing by the mailbox.  When Mr. Gordon went up to the door the lady said what do you want and he said an apple and the lady had a big grin on her face she was happy because he was the first kid to ask for a fruit, she took him to the back of her house and gave him a bag of fruit and because he was the first person to ask he to go to her house all the time to get a bag of fruit for his family. This story was an example of courage- being brave to ask.

At technology we were trying to find many different phone stands to see what phone stand we want to try or do.  we had a challenge to do and it was to try and find a furry phone stand and I found one but it wasn't really good because you couldn't even see half of the screen. There was a some that was good because you could actually see the screen.

TIDAL PHENOMENON

What is a Tide?

A tide is not just the rise and fall of ocean water.  Tide is the movement of water caused by

complex interactions between the  gravitational and rotational forces of the Earth,

Moon and Sun.

The combined forces cause the oceans to bulge out in the direction of the Moon.

 As the Earth rotates around its axis, the bulge is directly in line with the moon.

 The Earth rotates a few times faster than the water bulge, therefore the solid Earth moves

towards the water bulge.  Observing the tide from Earth, you might think that the

water goes to the Earth’s surface.  

When in fact it’s the Earth’s surface that meets the water bulge.

Now you know what tides are and how they occur.

Half of the earth has day from the sun and the other half is night, from the sun's reflection on the moon.

Night and day happens from the sun and the moon.  This means that during the day it's light and we have sun, when it's night time it's dark and we have the moon. For example the sun lights up the moon and the moon reflects on to the earth and then it appears. The earth rotates on its axis, so the top of the earth is dark and the bottom of earth is light.

Did you know that the moon controls the tides. This means when the moon and the sun is closer to the Earth, we have a very heavy gravitational pull towards us and that makes us to appear with a King Tide in the ocean.

Did you know that there is 24 hours in a day, 12 hours in the day and 12 hours in the night.  And that happens by the rotation of the earth and the moon going around the sun, they rotate around the sun and the sun shines on half of the earth for 12 hours and the other half the sun shines on to the moon, and then the moon shines on the earth for 12 hours.

Did you know that the sun is fixed.  Fixed means that the sun canẗ rotate or move around the planets. For example all the planets rotate around the sun, and the sun can not rotate around the planets because it is fixed. If we didn't have a fixed Sun it would most likely mean that we wouldn't have much Sunlight/daylight because the Sun and Earth will be moving at the same time.

Last week kia manawanui went to camp and that week we had Samoan lanuage so before we went to camp wehad to make a presention and samoan languague week.

We have been learning about working as a TEAM,  TEAM stands for Together Everyone Achieves More. 

Technology Reflection.

Spaghetti Bolognese

Step 1. Boil saghetti with 2 cups of cold water until soft.

Step 2. Dain in cold water

Step 3. Fry the meat balls when finish take out

Step 4. Fry onion and garlic until soft.

Step 5. Add sauce, meat balls and cheese

Step 6. Simmer for 5 minutes

Step 7. Serve.

Today we made Spaghetti Bolognese at technology.

Girls Tai Chi

Today we had our first class of tai chi this term and it was kind of easy because last year in 2017 I was in wahine toa it means girl power. And every wednesday we had tai chi, the person that teachs us name is Dani he works with kids that has heart problems.  His duaghter had something wrong with her heart and when she was just born Danis grand master Chen Ziao went to the hospitil to do a little excrsise her arms and legs. The doctors said she might not make her teens but today she like in her 20s all because of the excrsising kept her alive and she still does tai chi today.

If someone was not listening or muking around and not taking what his lissons were about seriously then he will make the whole group pays, we had to lye on our backs and put our feet in the air about 15 inchs from the ground. It was not really hard because I have done it before like heaps of times.
We also have like a sharing circle and you have to say your name and a postive and negative comment from the weekend ans also a radom act of kindness. If you dont have a random act of kindness you dont have to say it. If you are stuck you can just say what your favourite food is and your done. When we do it we have to do it in a semi circle.

First Blog Of Term 2 2018

In week 1 of the school holidays I stayed over at my cousins house for like nearly a whole week we went to watch my other cousin play league out south. I also went shoipng with  my brother and my mum at kmart in botney and proberbly do nothing and by doing nothing I mean by sleeping  and eating or chilling and watching movies with my family. And on sunday I went to the movies with my brother and aunty and her kids then I stayed at my nephews house.

In week 2 of the school holiday I went to the motat with my family at the motat we were supposed to go have a look around the place but we stayed in one area for three hours. It was a car race you had to make your car then test it out and then race with others at the motat. On the 28 april it was my mothers birthday and we went to the movies to watch the avengers at the botney cinermas I liked it because the chairs were comfy and it was the chairs that you can put up and down after the movies we went to a party for my mum.

Reflection About Ako Evening

Last night our whole  school had a ako evening so an ako evening is so the students in each classes have something to show to their parents about what they have learnt through out this whole term. And someone confident from each group had present the groups work and my was a timeline of a place in panmure and the reason why it was based in panmure was because our topic for inquiry was our community and for my prodect I drawed the panmure library for my favourite place in panmure because before I started school my mum use to take us to the library for story time and singing songs.

Technology Pan Cakes.

Cooking Tech

Today we all made pan cakes and what found easy was knowing when to flip because all you have to do is wait until there are popped bubbles and what then flip I found hard was when itr was time to eat because I got full fast.

Ingredeints for pan cakes:

1. 1 1/2 cups of S.R.F

2. 1/2 cups of sugar

3. 1 cup of milk

4. 1 egg

5. mix all ingredients and fry two cakes at

 a time or three.

Technology Pita Bread Sandwhich.

last week we made pita bread sandwhichs and what i found easy was when we had to cut the bread in half because you just cut sraight throw the middle. What I found hard was when we had to put the the food inside and also my friend was alergic to the onions so we had to keep them away from her.

ingredeints for pita bread sandwich:

-cut the tomatoe in half 

-fill in the the bread with red onions ham and top up with mayo and apple.

Today we are going to be talking about the toilets it sounds abit silly but people aren't using the toilet paper appropriately so we had a lesson about how should we behave while going to the toilets and what we sholud be doing inside of the toilets.

Today we had technology there are 3 groups, group 1,2 and 3 I am in
group 3 cooking tech.
We had to had to split up between the year 7's and 8's. All the year 8's were
on one side and year 7s on the other side.
Today we all made vanilla muffins with hershey chocolate.

Ingredients for the vanilla muffins:

-1 and a half cup of flour.

-1 and a half cup of sugar.

-1 egg, 1 and a third cup of oil.

-1 and third cup of milk.

I feelt really excited because we were making vanilla muffins and they were also easy to make and because me and my buddy didn't burn them they wer just right so they were really delicious.
